Rochester is seeing many new high-end apartment complexes being built, but two Twin Cities real estate developers think there’s a real opportunity in affordable housing.
For their first Rochester project, Bryan Koster and Dean Meier bought a “pretty tired” 24-unit apartment building at 1609 10th St. SE, behind the former Big Lots store, this summer. They immediately began upgrading the 35-year-old building.
“We really want to offer a lot of the nice finishes and some of the amenities that the $1,000 plus apartment market is offering at a more affordable rent,” said Koster.
